I’m getting a “Fatal error 18”, what can I do?

On iOS, this error usually occurs when Skred is launched after restoring from an unencrypted backup. By default, neither iTunes nor iCloud encrypt backups, so the key needed to decrypt Skred’s database is not included in the restoration. But this is also due to having not enough free space on storage on iOS and Android.

  • Make some free space and restart the phone (Android & iOS)
  • If Skred still works on your previous phone, you can use the transfer option via the menu: Account > Transfer from this device (Android & iOS)
  • Always make sure to select “Encrypted backup” in iTunes and enable “Advanced Data Protection” in iCloud (iOS)

If Skred is no longer available on any device, unfortunately, there is no way to recover your data.
