It seems that sometimes call screens are not shown on Samsung and Xiaomi devices. Always check that the app is allowed to run in background.
For Xiaomi/Redmi, you have to manually enable a MIUI permission :
– Settings > Apps > Skred > Other permissions > Open new windows while running in the background
